Alberto Ayala, Ph.D.

Manager of Emission Control Technology Research,

California Air Resources Board

 

Dr. Ayala is Manager of Emission Control Technology Research in the Research Division of the California Air Resources Board.  His responsibilities include technical assessment and research on emission control technologies for mobile and stationary sources, oversight of extramural research funding dedicated to various clean air priorities for the agency, and other emissions-related regulatory and non-regulatory activities.  In addition, a significant current activity for Dr. Ayala’s team is the development of the mobile air conditioning refrigerant component of the AB1493-Pavley greenhouse gas emission regulation.  Prior to ARB, Dr. Ayala was an Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at West Virginia University.  He received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis in 1997.
