Steve Charlton

Dr Steve Charlton has worked for Cummins for 11 years, in Research and Development where he led the Advanced Engineering Group, and in Product Development where he currently leads the Heavy-Duty engine development programs for 2007.

Steve has worked predominantly on combustion, performance and emissions, and led the development of cooled EGR technology at Cummins from 1996 to 2000.

Prior to joining Cummins, Steve was a professor at The University of Bath in the United Kingdom, where he developed a research program, over a 9 year period, on light-duty diesel engine emission controls.

He started his career with GEC Diesels Limited in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s, where he worked on diesel engine design and development, early attempts to measure and control emissions, and engine simulation.
