Michael P. Walsh

Mr. Walsh is a mechanical engineer and internationally recognized expert in the area of motor vehicle emission controls.  His career began in government, directing motor vehicle pollution control efforts for the City of New York.  Later, while a Deputy Assistant Administrator for the U.S. EPA, his accomplishments included developing the first diesel particulate standard in the world.  He was an advisor to the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee during development of the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments. 

 

Mr. Walsh has served as a vehicle pollution control and energy advisor to the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, United Nations Environment Program, Congressional Office of Technology Assessment, American Lung Association, League of Women Voters, Manufacturers of Emission Controls Association, and environmental protection agencies in Mexico, Brazil, Hong Kong, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, and Taiwan.
