Sougato Chatterjee is the Application Engineering Manager at Johnson Matthey in the Environmental Catalysts and Technologies division.  The responsibilities of his group include development and designing, as well as installation and field support, of emission control systems for heavy duty diesel mobile applications (buses, trucks, etc) and stationary source applications (power generation, chemical plants).  The emission control systems include diesel particulate filters (CRT, CCRT), oxidation catalysts, NOx reduction systems (SCR, retrofit EGR), 3-way emission control (CO, HC and NOx), etc. 

 

Since 1999, he has managed numerous emission control projects, both demonstration and commercial, in California and the rest of the country.  Some of these include CRT demonstration in the BP/ARCO ECD project on 7 different vehicle fleets, SCAQMD school bus CRT demonstration, SCAQMD/CIAQC off-road CRT demonstration,  CRT demonstration and installation at NY City Transit, EGRT demonstration at CALTRANS, AC Transit, Houston Metro, etc.  He has been working at JM for over 9 years.  He graduated with a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Akron.  He resides in Malvern, PA near Philadelphia.
