Tim Carmichael
President,
Coalition for Clean Air
Tim Carmichael is President
of the Coalition for Clean Air, a non-profit environmental advocacy
organization dedicated to restoring clean, healthful air to all California
residents. As President, he develops and
oversees the organization’s strategy for reducing air pollution in California. He manages day-to-day operations, raises
funds, and serves as principal spokesperson for the Coalition.
Under Mr. Carmichael’s
leadership, the Coalition has doubled in size and become one of California’s leading
environmental organizations. The
Coalition’s advocacy has focused public attention and significant government
and industry resources on issues such as dirty diesel school and transit buses,
zero emission vehicles, and sustainable building. The Coalition is currently working statewide
to reduce toxic chemical use, increase the use of renewable energy, decrease
climate change emissions, and reduce air pollution at major ports.
Mr. Carmichael received a
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and History from UCLA in 1988. He is Chairman of the Board of Westart/CALSTART. He
also serves on the Government Relations Committee for the American Lung
Association of California.
