ABOUT THE EVENT
Smart growth attracts many people from a variety of
endeavors. This conference is about coordinating the
interests of this diverse group to help us all begin to
speak
the same language and paddle in the same direction.
Los Angeles provides the perfect backdrop for this
premier
national smart growth event. The Southern California
region offers an excellent laboratory for a close
examination
of sprawl’s impacts and long-term implications as
well as innovative policies and successful projects that
address the significant growth and development
challenges
this region is facing. Attendees will find a region
reinventing itself as a place filled with opportunities
to
live, work and play in urban and rural landscapes.
The 2007 program will span 3 full days and feature
cutting-edge smart growth issues, t he latest research,
implementation tools and strategies, successful case
studies, interactive learning experiences, new partners,
new projects and new policies. Most importantly, this
dynamic event offers you the opportunity to network
and coordinate with your peers as well as practitioners
from many different disciplines with the same goal –
building safe, healthy and livable communities for all.
"The New Partners gathering is, by far, the best
opportunity
in the country to plug into the best minds and the
freshest ideas for making healthier and more successful
communities. It has the most diverse range of attendees
and the most practical 'try this at home' advice you
can get." – Rick Cole, City Manager of Ventura , CA
